Bulldogs Travel To Buies Creek For Weekend Showdown

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – After a week away from the pitch, the UNC Asheville women's soccer team will travel to Campbell on Saturday, Sept. 30 for a 6 p.m. kickoff in Buies Creek, N.C.

About UNC Asheville
Asheville sports an impressive 3-1 road record as it has posted victories over VMI, Jacksonville and South Carolina State in away contests.
Head coach Michelle Demko is one victory away from her 50th career win.
In the previous four matches, UNC Asheville has three different goal scorers in Caroline Houser, Emma Houser and Skyler Chillson. Emma Houser and Chillson each netted a goal in the 2-0 road victory at SCSU, while Caroline Houser scored the lone goal at home versus Elon.
In the nation, UNC Asheville has the third fewest fouls as a team as the Bulldogs average 4.80 per contest. The fewest in the nation is held by N.C. State with 4.00 fouls per game.
Senior midfielder Courtney Naber is second in the Big South Conference in shots per game (3.30) and third in the league in total shots (33). The Fighting Camels enter Saturday's match with a 6-4 overall record and unblemished 2-0 Big South record. Campbell has picked up wins over Presbyterian and Radford to open its league play where the Camels have out-scored league opposition 6-1.
Alexa Genas was named the Big South Attacking Player of the Week on Monday, and the award was her second consecutive honor. She earned the honor this past week after netting all four goals for her team at Presbyterian. Two weeks ago, she earned a hat trick as she scored all three goals for Campbell in the 4-3 loss versus Western Carolina. The sophomore leads the league in goals with 10 and is tied for second in the nation in total goals and tied for third in goals per game (1.00).
Siara Southerland is second on the squad in total points with 10 as she has scored three goals and leads the team with four assists. Campbell has four players that have scored multiple goals and six players that have multiple assists this year.
Erin Scott has started in net all ten games for the Fighting Camels as she has totaled 694:55 minutes between the posts. Scott has corralled 28 saves on 66 shots faced, and she has pitched three shutouts this year.
