BULLDOG BITES
LAST TIME OUT: The Bulldogs dropped a heartbreaking 4-3 decision to mountain rival Western Carolina in the last time they competed. Despite the decision, several players had strong showings for Asheville. Lauren Watson-Steele rallied after dropping the first set to post a thrilling, 5-7, 6-1, 6-4, victory at the No. 3 singles slot. Freshman Emily Sidor remained unbeaten as she downed the Catamounts' No. 6 in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Watson-Steele was named the Big South Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week earlier this year for her standout performance to open the season. The freshman from Cambridgeshire, England is 5-2 in singles play and is also 3-3 in doubles.
UP NEXT: Â Following play on Monday, the Bulldogs will return home to host the Radford Highlanders on Saturday, Feb.25, at the Asheville Racquet Club. Start time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
