ASHEVILLE, N.C. – For its annual Education Day game, the UNC Asheville women's basketball team hosts Warren Wilson on Monday, Dec. 4 at 11:30 a.m. inside Kimmel Arena.

The Bulldogs enter the annual game with a 0-6 overall record including a 0-2 mark inside Kimmel Arena.
 
In their most recent matchup at Wofford, the Bulldogs dropped an exciting game (70-68) in Spartanburg, S.C. The Bulldogs were leading for most of the game (over 36 minutes), but Wofford rallied back with 1:11 in the fourth quarter to win its fourth game of the season. Bronaza Fitzgerald recorded her sixth career double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Jessica Wall knocked down five three-pointers, which matched a career best for the junior. In her first game of the season, Zip Scott recorded a career-high 11 points in 26 minutes of play.
 
UNC Asheville has shown a lot of poise in the fourth quarter as it has scored 97 points (16.17 points average) in the final 10 minutes. The closest total to that is in the third quarter as Asheville has totaled 83 points. As a team, the Bulldogs are shooting .400 (34-for-85) including posting two more steals than opponents along with seven fewer turnovers. The Bulldogs have also grabbed 13 more offensive boards than opponents in the fourth quarter (23-10).
 
At the Big South Conference Media Day, the Bulldogs were selected to finish fifth, despite receiving the second-highest amount of first-place votes in the league. Radford earned seven of the total first-place votes as the Highlanders were selected the win the league.
 
UNC Asheville opens its conference portion of the schedule on Jan. 2 at Campbell followed by the conference home opener on Jan. 6 at 2 p.m. versus High Point.
 
Scouting Warren Wilson
 
The Owls enter Monday's contest with a 6-4 overall record including a 3-3 road record. Warren Wilson has won two straight road games at Johnson (80-68) and Columbia International (67-58). The Owls have played one NCAA Division I opponent this year as they traveled to Furman on Nov. 3 where the Owls lost 109-34 in Greenville, S.C.
 
In their most recent win versus Georgia Northwestern Technical College, the Owls dismantled the Bobcats 105-40. The Owls limited the Bobcats to only five points in the first quarter and 15 points after the first 20 minutes of play. Amber Godfrey led the offense for the Owls as she scored 22 points while she went 9-for-17 from the field. Avery Prather was right behind her teammate as she tallied 20 points, and Kalie Mayo recorded 19 points in only 11 minutes of play.
 
On the year, Warren Wilson has averaged 80.3 points per contest while allowing only 57.3 points per contest. The Owls dominate the boards as they average 38.7 rebounds per game and tote a +6.0 rebounding margin. The 1.0 assist to turnover ratio and 11.4 steals per game ranks near the top in the United State Collegiate Athletic Association.
