CHARLESTON– The UNC Asheville Women's Tennis team fell to reigning Big South Conference Champion, Charleston Southern University 0-7 on the road in South Carolina.

 

NOTABLES

-The Buccaneers came out strong, sweeping the doubles matches 3-0 to take the first point of the match. The Bulldogs rallied on court one, with the pair of Hannah Francisco and Kylee Shipley pushing the match to extra points. But, they were unable to close as they fell 7-5 to the CSU pair of Brianna Thompson and Nicolin Luecke.

 

- CSU completed their sweep at home by winning all six singles matches in two sets.

On the match- “Today was a tough loss for us, but I hope we can learn from it and be ready to go next week as we move into tournament play.”

 

UP NEXT

-Following today's match, the Bulldogs will travel to Lynchburg, Virginia for the Big South Conference Championship tournament on April 15-18. The Bulldogs will take on No. 3 seeded Coastal Carolina in the last of four quarterfinal matches on Saturday, April 16 at 3:00 p.m.
