ASHEVILLE– The UNC Asheville Women's Tennis team outlasted Presbyterian College for a 4-3 win in their last home game of the season.
NOTABLES
-The Bulldogs opened the match by sweeping the first two doubles matches in flights one and two. Hannah Francisco and her partner Kylee Shipley defeated the PC duo of Demi Henschel and Tracy Johnson 6-3 in flight one. Senior Ericka Rivero and her partner Christin Louw also picked up a 6-3 victory for the Bulldogs in flight two.
-Asheville picked up the pace in singles play, winning their first two matches in flights three and five. Senior Lauren Brooker turned in a 6-0, 6-2 victory in flight three, followed by a 6-2, 6-3 win from Christin Louw in flight five.
-PC responded with two singles wins of their own on courts two and four.
-Asheville's Kylee Shipley delivered a three-set win on court six (6-3, 4-6, 6-3) to clinch the match for the Bulldogs.
-The Bluehose closed the match with a three-set win on court one (7-6, 4-6, 10-9).
