-Starter Lucas Clarke was saddled with the loss, allowing four runs on five hits over the opening two innings a Brett Hyers (three innings, five runs (one earned)), Adam Spracklin (two innings) and Nick Boyles (one inning) all combined to toe the rubber for the Bulldogs in the loss.

-Asheville used a Guy walk in the top of the first inning and Wilson's one-out RBI single into left field to get on the board. The Bulldogs eventually loaded the bases before Upstate ended the threat with a strikeout of Baratta.

-The hosts took the lead in the second inning with four runs on five hits, including an RBI double and two run-scoring singles, to take the lead before extending the advantage in the fourth and fifth frames. -The Bulldogs tried to claw back into the game in the sixth and seventh, plating one run in each inning. In the sixth, Joe Tietjen walked to begin the inning before scoring on Kobos' RBI single. Upstate ended the threat with a pair of strikeouts to close the frame. In the seventh inning, Asheville plated a run on Carruthers' two-out RBI single but another strikeout ended the threat and stranded three runners.
