ASHEVILLE– The UNC Asheville women's tennis team will continue conference play at home against the Winthrop University Eagles on Tuesday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m.

 

NOTABLES

Head-to-Head: These two teams last met in the quarterfinal round of the 2015 Big South tournament, Winthrop as the number three seed and Asheville as the six. The Eagles defeated the Bulldogs 4-0 to advance to the semifinal round.

 

Last Time Out: Asheville is coming off of a 5-2 loss to Liberty University in Lynchburg this past weekend. The Flames swept all three doubles matches to start the match with an early lead. Liberty was able to add four singles wins to clinch the match, despite singles wins from Christin Louw and Kylee Shipley.

 

Scouting Winthrop: The Eagles are nearly perfect in regular season play, only dropping one match to Wake Forest University (2-5) in Winston-Salem to start the 2016 season. Winthrop collected their first conference win over Presbyterian College (7-0) in Rock Hill.

On the match- “We're ready for another conference match after a good couple of days of practice. Winthrop is a good team and we're going to have to have to be ready to play tomorrow if we want to compete with them.”
