ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville opened the afternoon with two doubles victories to win the doubles point, but visiting Georgia Southern won four of five singles matches to win 4-2 over the Bulldogs on Friday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club.
NOTABLES
-The No. 2 doubles team of Josh Swindler and Henry Patten won the first point of the day for the Bulldogs over Eddie Landin and J.C. Alcala, followed by Thomas Panoulas and Reid Dillon earning the victory in No. 3 doubles over Ze Moya and Andre Johnson to give Asheville the doubles point.
-In singles action, Patten was the only Bulldog to win his match, defeating Alcala in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0 in No. 2 singles action.
-Alex Croker fell (6-3, 2-6, 6-3) in No. 1 singles action, Panoulas lost (6-2, 6-4) on court three, Dillon was taken down on court five (7-6, 7-5) and Colin Apt fell (6-3, -6, 6-3) in No. 6 action.
