BOONE – The UNC Asheville Women's Tennis team suffered their first loss of the season to Appalachian State University in their first game on the road.
NOTABLES
-Appalachian won the doubles point with two wins on courts two and three. The Bulldogs snatched a doubles win on court one with the duo of Hannah Francisco and Kylee Shipley defeating Clare Cox and Heidi Swope from App, 6-2.
-After two wins today, Hannah Francisco stays clean through the first three matches of the season in singles and doubles play. She delivered a singles win on court one over App's Clare Cox, 7-5, 1-6, 6-4.
-Asheville collected two more singles wins on courts five and six. Kylee Shipley bested Rebecca Morse in two sets, 6-2, 7-5, and Lauren Brooker delivered a win over Brianna Armellino, 1-6, 6-4, 10-3.
- Appalachain picked up three more singles wins to defeat Asheville 4-3.
