Hannah Francisco Named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –UNC Asheville Women's Tennis player, Hannah Francisco has been named the Big South Freshman of the Week, the conference announced this morning.
Francisco is a freshman from Marietta, Georgia playing the number one spot for the Bulldogs. She is 3-0 on the season in both doubles and singles play. Francisco delivered her first singles win in Asheville's season opener against Mars Hill, (6-2, 6-2). She continued her streak in the following weekend against Lenoir-Rhyne defeating Dominique Bruce, (6-0, 6-2).
In Asheville's match at Appalachian State on Saturday, she picked up her third straight win this season (7-5, 1-6, 6-4) against App State's Clare Cox. In doubles play, Francisco and her partner Kylee Shipley defeated the Mountaineers' duo for Asheville's only doubles win of the match.
Francisco and the Bulldogs are 2-1 on the season, dropping their only match to Appalachian State (3-4). Asheville's next match will be this Saturday, February 13 when they host Longwood University at the Asheville Racquet Club at 3:00 p.m.
