ASHEVILLE – The UNC Asheville Women's Tennis team swept Lenoir-Rhyne University 7-0 to move them to a perfect 2-0 start to the 2016 season.
NOTABLES
-Asheville swept all three doubles matches against LRU. Kylee Shipley and Hannah Francisco took the number one court 6-2. Ericka Rivero and Christin Louw won on court two (6-1), while Lauren Brooker and Amalie Davidsen picked up the third win (6-0).
-The Bulldogs continued to see production from their freshmen, with three singles wins. Hannah Francisco playing the number one spot (6-0, 6-2), Kylee Shipley (6-0, 6-1) in the number four spot and Christin Louw in the fifth spot (6-1, 6-0).
-Asheville's other singles wins came on courts two, three and six. Both Bulldog seniors each came through with singles victories: Ericka Rivero (6-1, 7-5) and Lauren Brooker (6-1, 6-0). Amalie Davidsen also came away with a 6-2, 6-4 win on court three.
