ASHEVILLE – The UNC Asheville Women's tennis team defeated Mars Hill University 6-1 in their first match of the spring season at the Asheville Racquet Club.
NOTABLES
-Asheville swept all three doubles matches against Mars Hill. The duo of Ericka Rivero and Kylee Shipley won the number one spot, 6-4.
-Amalie Davidsen, a sophomore from Denmark, was the first to finish her singles match with a win in the number three spot (6-0, 6-1).
-The Bulldogs debuted their young talent with three singles wins from their freshmen. Hannah Francisco playing the number one spot (6-2, 6-2), Christin Louw in the fifth spot (6-0, 6-0) and Madeline Finley (6-3, 6-2) in the number six spot.
-The Bulldogs will face North Carolina A&T for the first time this season tomorrow. The Bulldogs have defeated the Aggies in each of their matches over the past three seasons (7-0, 7-0, 6-1).
