Bulldogs Fall on Senior Day to Charleston Southern

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's tennis team fell to Charleston Southern, 7-0, on senior day, Monday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club.
Asheville falls to 12-4 overall on the year and 2-3 in Big South Conference matches, while the Buccaneers improve to 13-2 overall and 7-1 in league play.
The Bulldogs dropped the doubles point for just the third time this season, being defeated on all three courts. Emily McNall and Ericka Rivero were defeated 8-5 at the top flight, Lauren Brooker and Christine Boissevain fell 8-2 at No. 2 and Hunter Hall and Amryn Soldier lost 8-3 at the third flight.
Amelie Davidsen was the only Bulldog to force a third-set on the afternoon in singles play, falling to Nicolin Luecke on court five. The remainder of the five matches were won in straight-sets by the Buccaneers who are the defending Big South regular-season champions. Rivero was defeated 6-4, 6-2 at the top flight by Marketa Placha, and Emily McNall dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision on court two. Brooker, Boissevain and Hall lost their matches at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6.
The Bulldogs said goodbye to three seniors on Monday, as Christine Boissevain, Amryn Soldier and Emily McNall played their final home match for the Blue & White.
Asheville will return to action on Saturday morning when they travel to Buies Creek to face the Campbell Camels at 10:00 a.m.
