ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's tennis team is back in action this afternoon when the Bulldogs have a first-time meeting with New Jersey Institute of Technology at the Asheville Racquet Club starting at 2 p.m.

Asheville won both of its matches last week to improve to 9-1 on the year. The Bulldogs are off to their best start in school history. Lise Gregory's club has only played two matches in the last two weeks but today's match starts a busy stretch for the Blue & White. Asheville plays seven matches over the next 12 days, including two this weekend. The Bulldogs host Coastal Carolina on Saturday and travel to Gardner-Webb on Sunday.

NJIT is 2-10 on the season but faced a very tough schedule. The Highlanders are on a Spring Break trip that saw them play at Charlotte on Monday and play at Presbyterian College on Thursday.

Freshman Amalie Davidsen leads the way for Asheville in singles play with a 9-1 record. She's 6-1 at #5 flight and 3-0 at #4 flight. Senior Emily McNall is 7-1 on the season and 5-1 at #2 flight.

In doubles action, Lauren Brooker and Christine Boissevain have been next to unbeatable at #2 flight with a 7-1 record.
