ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Nicholls State won four singles matches and edged UNC Asheville 4-3 in collegiate women's tennis action Friday afternoon at the Asheville Racquet Club.

 

The Bulldogs won the doubles point and got singles wins from Ericka Rivero and Emily McNall at #2 and #6 singles respectively.

 

Asheville (5-2) won the doubles point by winning at #1 doubles and #3 doubles. The #1 team of Zoe Hamel and Rivero won 8-5 with the #3 team of Emily McNall and Gillian Lewis won their match, 8-7.

 

The Bulldogs open Big South Conference play this Sunday afternoon vs. Longwood starting at 1 p.m.

3.       Kateryna Nakonechna (NSU) def. Amryn Soldier (ASHW), 6-2, 7-6

4.       Klara Skopac (NSU) def. Christina Boissevain (ASHW), 6-3, 7-5

5.       Isla Brock (NSU) def. Gillian Lewis (ASHW), 7-5, 6-1

6.       Emily McNall (ASHW) def. Eva Castiglioni (NSU) 6-2, 6-2
