ROCK HILL, S.C. – Defending Big South Conference champion Winthrop defeated the short-handed UNC Asheville women's tennis team on Sunday, 7-0.

 

The Lady Eagles won the double point with three victories. Zoe Hamel, Asheville's top player, did not play in singles after playing in doubles.

 

Winthrop was able to win five singles matches as the Bulldogs forfeited the sixth flight.

 

Asheville plays next at Presbyterian College on Wednesday afternoon.
