Bulldog Baseball Blast UNC Wilmington 7-2

WILMINGTON, N.C. - Drew Spear allowed just one run on four hits over six innings as UNC Asheville downed UNC Wilmington 7-2 in the final game of the Hughes Brother Challenge Sunday afternoon.
Spear (2-1) struck out six against the Seahawks and earned his second victory of the season.
The Bulldogs (7-5) earned their first win ever over UNC Wilmington on the day. Casey Ebersole and Patrick Koontz led Asheville at the plate with two hits each.
Asheville led 4-2 entering the top of the ninth inning but put the game away with three runs. Todd Joyner's clutch two-out, two-run double put the Bulldogs in front, 6-2. Cody Buch followed with an RBI-single to seal the victory.
Asheville returns to Greenwood Field on Tuesday when the Bulldogs host Furman at 3 p.m.
