SPARTANBURG, S.C.  -  With runners at first and third in the bottom of the seventh inning, Wofford centerfielder James Foster laid down a sacrifice bunt to score the eventual game-winning run for the Terriers, as UNC Asheville dropped a midweek game to Wofford, 4-3, at King Field on Wednesday evening.

Asheville out-hit the Terriers 11-to-3, but stranded eight baserunners on the night. The loss is the fourth in a row for the Bulldogs, who fall to 12-14 on the season.

With the win the Terriers improve to 10-15 overall, having now won two in a row against the Blue & White.

Todd Joyner went 3-for-4 at the plate for the Bulldogs, while Hunter Bryant was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in. Elliot Criss (1-2) was credited with the loss for the Bulldogs, allowing only one run in an inning of work.

Wofford's Mac Doyle and Matt Moore each posted an RBI for the Terriers, while Cash Collins (2-4) picked up the win in relief.

The Terriers broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the second, plating two runners in the frame. Asheville took the lead in the top of the sixth, scoring three runs on a Gajdosz single and a Bryant two-RBI double.

Doyle would tie the game in the bottom of the sixth, plating a runner on a single up the middle. Wofford then took the lead on Foster's sacrifice, giving the Terriers their 10th win of the season.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday when they begin a three-game series at Big South Conference foe Presbyterian College. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. on Friday.
