UNC Asheville Women's Tennis to Host Tournament this Weekend at Crowne Plaza

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's tennis team will host the UNC Asheville Fall Invitational this weekend at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center. The tournament will run from Friday through Sunday and will start at 9 a.m. each day. Admission is free.

The Bulldogs will welcome five teams to Asheville this weekend to compete. They are Brevard College, Gardner-Webb, Georgia Southern and Western Carolina.

Head Coach Lise Gregory is looking forward to watching her team play for the first time this year.

"We've worked hard since getting back from summer and I know our players worked hard this summer, as well," declared Gregory. "We're looking forward to playing this weekend against some great competition."

Asheville will have a new look this year with seven new players on the roster. The Bulldogs return three players from last year, including senior Devon Cavanaugh, sophomore Zoe Hamel and junior Jackie McGuirk.

"I am excited about the new players in our program," stated Gregory. "We believe we'll be a lot deeper than we were last season."
