ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's tennis team takes a break from Big South Conference action to take on mountain rival Western Carolina Tuesday afternoon at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center starting at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
The Bulldogs hope to snap a frustrating four-match losing streak on Tuesday. Asheville lost a tough 4-3 Big South decision to Radford on Saturday.
Western Carolina enters the match with a 2-8 record but knocked off Davidson last week, 4-3.
"We're finally starting to get healthy," commented Asheville coach Lise Gregory. "We should have six healthy players playing on Tuesday.
"Our effort has been outstanding and hopefully if we can keep battling, we'll start finding a way to win these matches," added Gregory.
Senior Stephanie Schon is leading the Bulldogs in singles action. She has posted a 9-3 record this year.
