UNC Asheville Track & Field Squad Compete at Niswonger Invitational

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - The UNC Asheville men's and women's Indoor Track and Field squads competed this weekend at the Niswonger Invitational at East Tennessee State.
Freshman Milan Ristic continued his solid rookie campaign. He finished sixth in a very strong field in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.42.
Highlighting the women's side was the performance of distance runners Melanie Kulesz and Emma Bussard. Kulesz finished eighth in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:24 and Bussard took ninth at 10:26. Sarah Gentry competed in the 800 meters and finished with a time of 2:23.
On the men's side, Carlos Lopez finished ninth in the 3000 meters at a time of 9:08. In the mile run, Nick Summers finished ninth at 4:26. Eliud Chirchir took 14th at 4:28. Sam Maynard finished 16th in the 800 meters (1:57.74), while Summers took 17th (1:58.95).
Simon Haake competed in the shot put (13.05 meters) and the weight throw (13.20 meters).
