CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's and women's Indoor Track and Field squads are in action on Saturday at the Dick Taylor Invitational on the campus of UNC Chapel Hill starting at 9 a.m.

Both Bulldog teams were in action last weekend at the Niswonger Invitational at East Tennessee State and posted some solid results against tough competition. The competition will be even tougher this weekend in Chapel Hill.

"We did some good things at ETSU last weekend but we need to keep pushing to get better each and every meet," commented Asheville coach Jesse Norman. "We're going to see some of the teams and individuals in the country on Saturday at Chapel Hill. This will be an excellent test for us to get us ready for the Big South Conference meet in two weeks."

Freshman Milan Ristic continued his solid rookie campaign last weekend at ETSU. He finished sixth in a very strong field in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.42.

Highlighting the women's side at the Niswonger was the performance of distance runners Melanie Kulesz and Emma Bussard. Kulesz finished eighth in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:24 and Bussard took ninth at 10:26. Sarah Gentry competed in the 800 meters and finished with a time of 2:23.

On the men's side, Carlos Lopez finished ninth in the 3000 meters at a time of 9:08. In the mile run, Nick Summers finished ninth at 4:26. Eliud Chirchir took 14th at 4:28. Sam Maynard finished 16th in the 800 meters (1:57.74), while Summers took 17th (1:58.95).

After Saturday's meet, the Bulldogs will have some time off before competing in the Big South Conference Indoor Meet on Feb. 24-25 at Clemson.
