Women's Tennis Posts Impressive Results at UNC Asheville Open

In singles play, the Bulldogs had three players advance to Saturday's quarterfinals in the Grand Singles Flight, while two doubles advanced to Saturday's semifinals of the open division.
Junior Devon Cavanaugh led the way for Asheville as she downed Stephanie Cox of Wofford, 6-0, 6-2. Stephanie Schon knocked off Tatiana Dualiby of Mars Hill, 6-3, 6-0. Britney Cloer was the third Bulldog to get to the quarterfinals when she defeated Michelle Prata of Brevard, 6-2, 6-1.
In doubles action, Chelsea Hall and Cavanaugh easily moved into the semifinals with an 8-3 victory over Pinate-Nelson of Mars Hill. Stephanie Schon and Zoe Hamel earned a spot in the semifinals with an 8-1 victory over Jane-Dockery of Mars Hill.
Action will get underway with singles action at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Admission is free.
