Asheville (3-4) had a trio of players with three hits each. Freshman Robert McIntosh went 3-for-5 with four RBI. He hit a grand-slam home run in the third inning. Danny Baatz went 3-for-6 with three RBI and a double. Austin Graham added two hits and scored two runs.
The offensive explosion made a winner out of starting pitcher Ryan Dull (2-0). He pitched six innings, scattering 10 hits and allowing five runs.
The Bulldogs trailed early 1-0 but took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. After the Terriers got the first two outs of the inning, Asheville loaded the bases. Baatz drove in two runs with a two-run single to put the visitors in front 2-1. An error allowed two more runs to give the Dogs a 4-1 lead.
In the third, the Bulldogs hit two home runs to score six runs to push the Asheville lead to 10-1. Vaughan hit a solo homer, followed by McIntosh's grand-slam later in the inning.
Catlin Carter drove in a run on sacrifice fly in the fourth to make it 11-1. Cody Buch's RBI-double in the fifth to pad the lead to 12-1. A single from Beau Zinman scored Buch to increase the lead to 13-1.
In the sixth inning, Asheville scored two more runs as Baatz delivered an RBI-double. Justin Schumer drove in Baatz with a run-scoring single.
The Bulldogs have had at least 10 hits in six of their seven games this year.
Asheville plays a double-header with two different teams on Saturday at Davidson College. The Bulldogs play Bryant College at 11 a.m., followed by a game with the Wildcats at 2 p.m.
