Women's Tennis Defeated by Charleston Southern, 6-1

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern won three close singles matches and picked up the doubles point as the Lady Buccaneers defeated UNC Asheville, 6-1 in Big South Conference women's tennis action Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs (2-3, 0-1 BSC) earned a win at #5 singles as Nicoe Schon whipped Andrea Gonzalez, 6-0, 6-0. Sarah Brinkley and Louise Bottomley battled in their singles matches but lost in three sets. Devon Cavanaugh and Louise Bottomley won their doubles match in a tie-breaker, 87 (9-7) over Marija Dzakovic and Olga Makhova.
Asheville will play its second Big South Conference match on Sunday at Coastal Carolina.
