CONWAY, S.C. - The UNC Asheville women's tennis team battled but fell to a red-hot Coastal Carolina squad Sunday morning, 7-0 in Big South Conference action Sunday morning at the CCU Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs came close to winning at the #1 flight as Leslie Smith lost the first set in a tie-breaker to Lexi Bolesky. She then fell 6-3 in the second set. Stephanie Schon and Smith fought hard in doubles at the top flight but lost a tiebreaker for the match, 7-5.
Asheville (2-4, 0-2 BSC) will try and get back on the winning track on Wednesday when it hosts Winston-Salem State at 2 p.m.
