The Bulldogs (5-9, 1-1 BSC) were led by Lindsey Montgomery with 12 points and nine rebounds. She also had four steals and three blocked shots. Kelli Riles just missed a double-double with 11 points and eight rebounds.
The Lady Bucs (7-6, 1-1 BSC) received 11 points from LeChell Rush and Katie Tull.
Asheville struggled on offense the entire night with 27 turnovers and just 30 percent shooting (16-of-53) from the field. The Bulldogs were just 2-of-17 from the three-point line at 12 percent.
CSU went 10-of-21 from the three-point line and finished at 48 percent. The Lady Bucs are third nationally in three-pointers made.
"We just didn't play well tonight against a good Charleston Southern team," stated Asheville coach Betsy Blose. "You can't have 27 turnovers and shoot 30 percent and expect to win."
The Bulldogs did a great job on the backboards as they out-rebounded the Lady Bucs, 45-30. Linda Aughburns grabbed nine rebounds for Asheville.
Charleston Southern led from start to finish. The Bulldogs had 10 turnovers in the first 10 minutes of the game and only had two field goals as the Lady Bucs led early 15-5. Terry had two treys in the first 10 minutes of the contest.
Asheville's rebounding kept the home team in the game as CSU couldn't pull too far away as the Lady Bucs settled for a 31-19 halftime lead. The Bulldogs shot just 27 percent in the opening half and had 17 turnovers.
In the second half, the Bulldogs crept to 39-32 on a long trey from Lindsey Thompson at the 13:41 mark.
But Terry sank a three-pointer on the next possession as CSU led 42-32. The Bulldogs could not get closer than eight the rest of the game. Asheville was within 58-49 at the three-minute mark, but the Lady Bucs closed the game out with three consecutive treys to win 67-49.
Asheville begins a four-game road trip at Gardner-Webb Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. CSU plays at Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 4 p.m.
