Bulldogs Fall to Wofford, 6-1

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Wofford men's tennis team defeated UNC Asheville 6-1 on Thursday afternoon at the Reeves Tennis Center.
The Terriers (4-7, 0-0 SoCon) captured two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Asheville's pairing of Joe May and Nicolai Nonnenbroich defeated Paul Bartholomy and Alan Donald 9-8 in the No. 2 match.
Mauricio Correa dropped a tough match to Scott Collins in the No. 2 singles match. Collins won the first set 6-4, but Correa tied the match with a 7-5 victory in the second set. Collins earned the match victory by winning the tiebreaker 10-6.
In the No. 3 match, Wofford's Danny Manlow defated Jonas Brobeck 6-1 in the first set. Brobeck came back with a 6-1 victory in the second, only to fall 1-6 to Manlow in the deciding third set.
Nathan White earned the Bulldogs' lone singles victory as he defeated Barholomy 6-4, 7-5 for his second singles win of the season.
The Bulldogs fall to 1-8 on the season with the loss.
Next week, UNC Asheville will hit the road for a two-match road trip in Georgia. On Monday, the Bulldogs will face North Georgia at noon in Dahlonega. The Bulldogs will head to Macon for a Tuesday match against Mercer at noon.
