Women's Tennis to Host Charleston Southern in Big South Opener

Women's Tennis Falls to Liberty, 5-2

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's tennis team fell 5-2 to Liberty Saturday at the Asheville School.

Liberty claimed an 1-0 overall match lead by sweeping the doubles competition.

The Bulldogs were able to pick up two points by winning two singles matches.  Stephanie Schon defeated Nadia Solomon-Burgess 6-3, 7-6 in the No. 2 match.  At No. 3, Devon Cavanaugh beat Lais Louza, 6-0, 7-6.

Asheville falls to 7-6 overall and 1-3 in the Big South.  Liberty improves its record to 7-6 and 1-1 in the Big South.

The Bulldogs play again Tuesday as they take on conference foe Presbyterian in Clinton, S.C. at 2:30 p.m.
