Bulldogs Fall 7-0 to UNC Wilmington

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. - The UNC Asheville women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 defeat to UNC Wilmington at the Peachtree City Tennis Center on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs earned a doubles victory in the No. 1 match as Leslie Smith and Stephanie Schon defeated Chelsea Kahle and Priscilla Roberts, 8-3. However, the Seahawks earned the doubles point by winning the two other doubles matches.
UNC Wilmington swept the singles portion of the competition. Stephanie Schon dropped a three-set match to Kahle in the No. 2 spot. Schon won the first set 7-5, but Kahle tied the match with a 6-4 win in the second set. Kahle won the deciding third set 10-8.
Seahawk senior Lauren Isenhour posted a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Louise Bottomley in the No. 4 match. It was Isenhour's 61st career victory, which breaks the school's career victories record set by Lindsey Hess in 2006.
The Bulldogs move to 6-4 with the loss, while the Seahawks improve their record to 10-1.
UNC Asheville returns to action on March 18 as it takes on Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs, N.C. at 2:30 p.m.
