MACON, Ga. - The UNC Asheville men's tennis team dropped a tough
4-3 decision to Mercer at the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center on Tuesday
afternoon.
The Bulldogs earned the doubles point by winning the No. 1 and No. 2 matches.
Three of the six singles matches lasted three sets. In the No. 1 position, Asheville's Nicolai Nonnenbroich defeated Justin Wimpee 6-4, 1-6, 6-0.
Jonas Brobeck posted a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory over Dave Barton in the No. 3 match. Nathan White suffered a tough three-set loss to the Bears' Victor Dias 6-7, 7-6, 6-3 in the No. 5 match.
UNC Asheville drops to 2-9 with the loss, while Mercer evens its record to 5-5.
The Bulldogs open up the Big South portion of their schedule on March 18 at Gardner-Webb. The match is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m.
