Men's Tennis Earns First Win of the Season Against Kennesaw State, 4-3

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's tennis team earned its first
win of the spring season on Saturday afternoon with a 4-3 victory over
Kennesaw State at the Asheville School tennis courts.
With the overall match tied at 3-3, sophomore Alexander Greer battled KSU's Justin Suesserman in the No. 6 singles match to determine what team would leave with the win. Suesserman took the first set 6-4, but Greer came back in the second set with a 7-5 decison. Due to darkness, the deciding third set was converted to a supertiebreaker, which Greer won 11-9 to give the Bullodgs (1-3) the match victory.
The Bulldogs got two more singles points from Maurico Correa and Joe May. In the No. 1 spot, Correa defeated Lawrence Washington 6-2, 6-1. May was victorious over Dylan Higgins 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4.
UNC Asheville swept the doubles competition to earn the doubles point. The Bulldogs' pairing of Nathan White and Greer prevailed 9-8 (4) in a close match against Suesserman and Washington.
The Bulldogs play again today against Furman in Greenville, S.C. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
