Women's Tennis to Face Kennesaw State on Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? The UNC Asheville women's tennis team will play at the Asheville School on Saturday against Kennesaw State at noon.

Last week, the Bulldogs (1-1) earned their first victory of the spring season over Appalachian State, 6-1. UNC Asheville swept the doubles portion of the match and won five of six singles matches. Leslie Smith, Stephanie Schon, Devon Cavanaugh, Nicole Schon, and Louise Bottomley all won their first singles matches of the season. Cavanaugh, a freshman, won her first career dual competition singles match 6-2, 6-0 against ASU's Gisela Fernandez.

Kennesaw State enters Saturday's match with a 1-1 record. The Owls swept Savannah State 7-0 in their season opener on Jan. 25, but they also fell 4-3 to Georgia Southern on the same day. The Owls will face Big South member Presbyterian on Friday in Clinton, S.C.
