Bulldogs Compete in First Indoor Event

The Bulldogs had three top 10 performances on the day highlighted by Kent Rankin's sixth place finish in the men's 3000 meters. Rankin ran a time of 9:24.62. The race was won by Patrick Morgan of Appalachian State with a time of 8:40.04. Also running in the men's 3000 for Asheville were Adam Schnapp (9:52.21) and Jay Barringer (9:55.55) who finished just outside of the top 10.
Other top men finishers had Simon Haake jumping 6.09 meters (19' 11.75") in the long jump. Ian Boyd pole vaulted 4.10 meters (13'05.25") and then ran a time of 8.76 seconds in the 55 meter hurdles. Keith Scruggs had a throw of 12.92 meters (42'4.75") in the weight throw. Nick Mozzone high jumped 1.83 meters (6').
The Bulldogs had three runners in the 55 meter dash. Derek Larsen finished with a time of 7.63 seconds while Billy Enright and Keith Scruggs finished at 6.91 and 7.42 seconds respectively. Larsen also ran a time of 23.90 in the 200 meters.
Chris Murray ran the 800 meter race in a time of 2:08.49 and David Pickett ran the 200 meters in a time of 24.72.
On the women's side, Katie Olert finished 10th in the mile run with a time of 6:03.39 and Jennifer Black finished ninth in the women's 3000 meters with a mark of 12:57.48. Corrie Trotter high jumped 1.53 meters (5'0.25"). Allie Chick threw the shot put 7.87 meters (25'10") while teammate Claire Anderson threw it 7.56 meters (24'9.75"). In the weight throw, Rebekah Pineda had a throw of 11.77 meters (38'7.5") while Chick had a mark of 9.39 meters (30'9.75").
Ashley Hunt posted a 55 meter hurdle time of 10.61 seconds and Eureka Jones posted a time of 7.63 seconds in the 55 meter dash. In the 400 meter race, Emily Pineda led the Bulldogs with a time of 1:06.01 with Charlotte Mull and Aurelia Baca following at 1:07.08 and 1:15.62 respectively.
The Bulldogs had three runners in the 200 meter event. Sarah Gentry led the way with a time of 27.48. Whitney Stafford ran 28.74 and Corey McClintock had a time of 29.42.
The women's 4x400 meter teams finished one behind the other with the "A" team posting a 4:23.28 mark and the "B" team right behind at 4:32.41. The men's 4x400 meter team posted a time of 3:34.20.
The Bulldogs will take time off for the Holidays before returning to competition in Boone on Jan. 15.
