The Bulldogs (4-5-1, 1-2-0 BSC) got goals from three different players to snap a four-game winless streak. The Blue Hose (3-8-0, 0-3-0 BSC) fired 10 shots on goal and had eight corner kicks to two for Asheville but could not the ball into the back of the net.
"We did a good job today on offense and it was nice to see us score some goals," commented Bulldog coach Michele Cornish. "We still have things to work on but it was nice to put a winning effort together today."
Bradham assisted on Asheville's first goal, scored by Chole McCleary-Small in the first half and then connected from 15 yards out later in the opening half to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead.
Katy Beeler finished the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 84th minute.
Asheville goalkeeper Veronica Lazar played 87 minutes and stopped seven Blue Hose shots. Reserve Mary Beale played the final three minutes.
The Bulldogs broke on top in the 29th minute as Bradham sent a nice pass to McKenna Stockhausen. Stockhausen made a nice run and sent a perfect cross to McCleary-Small who tapped the ball into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead at 29:41.
Eight minutes later, Bradham hit a rocket from 15 yards out for a 2-0 Asheville lead at 37:09.
The first half had PC with six corner kicks to nine for the Bulldogs. Asheville had a 7-5 edge in shots.
The second half was scoreless until the 84th minute. Beeler made a great run and took a shot from 10 yards out that Blue Hose goalkeeper Sara Beth Anderson stopped. The ball went right back to Beeler who tucked the ball into the back of the net for a 3-0 Asheville lead.
Asheville hosts Big South Conference foe Charleston Southern Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. The Blue Hose entertain Coastal Carolina Friday night at 7 p.m.
