Busha leads Bulldogs past Mars Hill, 3-1

MARS HILL, N.C. ? Senior forward Robyn Busha scored twice and added an assist as UNC Asheville defeated the Mars Hill Lions 3-1 in an exhibition game on Saturday afternoon at Meares Stadium.
Mars Hill nearly got on the board in the second minute, but junior goalkeeper Veronica Lazar made a sprawling save.
In the 19th minute, Busha put the Bulldogs up 1-0 with a powerful strike from just inside the penalty area.
The Lions equalized the score in the 60th minute when freshman midfielder Misha Price sneaked the ball past a diving Lazar.
Busha put the Bulldogs ahead in the 65th minute on a hard shot 15 yards from goal.
One minute later, Busha played the ball to McKenna Stockhausen who dribbled around the charging Lions goalkeeper and scored on a wide open goal to make the score 3-1.
“We still have a lot to work on,” said UNC Asheville head coach Michele Cornish, “but that's why we play these games - to get an idea where we are and where we need to go.”
UNC Asheville opens its regular season on Aug. 24 at home against
