DeRatt Pitching in Sioux Falls

DeRatt & Mattison Playing Well for Pro Teams

08.11.2008 | Baseball

Former Bulldog pitcher Alan DeRatt had an outstanding performance in his last appearance for the Casper Ghosts of the Pioneer League.

DeRatt pitched just once last week but what an outing it was. He pitched two innings against Great Falls and struck out five. The Cary native did not allow a hit and faced the minimum of six batters. He lowered his ERA to 5.12 and now has 25 strikeouts in 19.1 innings of work.

Former UNC Asheville outfielder Kevin Mattison has continued his great work at the plate for the Jamestown Jammers. Mattison's work has helped Jamestown move into first place in the Pinckney Division of the New York Penn League. The Jammers are in first place by three games over second-place Batavia.

Mattison enters the week with a seven-game hitting streak. He has raised his average to .257 with six doubles, three triples, two home runs, 12 RBI and 11 stolen bases. Mattison enjoyed a solid game on Saturday night as he went 2-for-5 with a home run and a stolen base in a 7-3 victory over Oneonta.
