The Bulldog netters were named as an ITA All-Academic team for their work in the classroom. UNC Asheville, along with 101 other Division I schools, maintained a GPA of 3.20 or above for an academic year.
To be named as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 GPA or above for an academic year. The five Bulldogs who were named as ITA Scholar-Athletes were Louise Bottomley, Tania Mateva, Nicole Schon, Vanessa Schon and Leslie Smith.
“I am obviously very proud of our student-athletes for the work they did in the classroom last year,” stated UNC Asheville coach Lise Gregory. “This is a great honor for our program.”
