Asheville has hit a tough stretch as the Bulldogs have lost seven of their last eight games and have a 13-21 record. The Terriers are 18-13 on the year.
Junior shortstop Kevin Weidenbacher will try and continue his Big South-record hitting streak. Weidenbacher has hit in 29 consecutive games and broke the Big South record on Sunday against Liberty. He has a hit in 33 of Asheville's 34 games this season. Weidenbacher leads Asheville in hitting with a .384 average.
The Bulldogs will start senior right-hander Ben Buchanan against Wofford. The game will be the first meeting between the teams since the 2003 season. It will also be a reunion for both head coaches. Wofford head coach Todd Interdonato is a 2001 UNC Asheville graduate and played with Bulldog head coach Willie Stewart in the 1999 and 2000 seasons in Asheville.
