ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? The UNC Asheville baseball team returns to McCormick Field Tuesday night as the Bulldogs have a two-game homestand. Asheville hosts future Big South Conference opponent Gardner-Webb Tuesday at 7 p.m. and then takes on North Carolina A&T Wednesday evening also at 7 p.m. Admission for each game is $4. Both games will be seen via video-streaming at www.uncabulldogs.come for a small fee.

The Bulldogs played well this past weekend at #19 Coastal Carolina but could not come up with a victory. Asheville fell 4-3, 10-4 and 3-2 to the powerful Chanticleers. The Bulldogs (16-27) lost at Gardner-Webb earlier this season, 13-3.

Asheville coach Willie Stewart liked the way his team battled at Coastal Carolina.

“We played hard at Coastal Carolina and battled against a very good baseball team,” said Stewart. “However, we've got to find a way to start winning some of these one-run games. A couple of little things lost us two of those games at Coastal Carolina.”

Gardner-Webb enters the game on Tuesday with a 19-20 overall record. The Runnin' Bulldogs have lived up to their name this year with 71 stolen bases in 87 attempts.

Kevin Weidenbacher continues to lead the Bulldogs in hitting with a .365 batting average. Reed Kreiser tops the club in home runs with 11.
