Women's Tennis' Leslie Smith Named Big South Player of Week

Women's Tennis to Host Charleston Southern Saturday at 11 a.m.

ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? The UNC Asheville men's and women's tennis teams are back in action Saturday morning when the Bulldogs entertain Big South Conference rival Charleston Southern.

 

Both matches are slated to start at 11 a.m. and will be held at the UNC Asheville Tennis Center. Admission is free.

 

The men's squad will be making its Big South Conference debut against the Buccaneers. The Bulldogs are 1-6 on the season and fell to Gardner-Webb on Tuesday, 5-2. The Buccaneers stand 9-7 on the year and 2-2 in league matches.

 

The women's team is 0-1 in the league but has a 5-5 worksheet. The Bulldogs have won their last two matches but have not played since a 5-0 win over Mars Hill last Friday. Charleston Southern is unbeaten in league play in the early going with a 2-0 BSC mark and 7-4 overall record.
