Bulldog Women Sweep Winston Salem State

ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? UNC Asheville women's tennis team improved to 3-1 on the season with a 7-0 victory over Winston Salem State on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Rams dropped to 1-12 on the season.
The Bulldogs dropped just two games in sweeping the doubles competition to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Leslie Smith was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Shannan Loughnan at number one singles in what proved to be the best match of the day. Stephanie Schon playing at number two singles was a 6-2, 6-0 winner over Johanna Nunez. Louise Bottomley, Nicole Schon, and Tania Mateva each did not lose a game in winnings at three, four, and six respectively. Whitney Abbott was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at number five singles.
The Bulldogs will begin a three-match spring break road trip at UNC Wilmington on Monday, March 3, at 10 a.m.
