Women?s Tennis Drops First Match of the Season 4-3

ASHEVILLE, N.C.? Kennesaw State rallied from a 3-1 deficit to hand UNC Asheville its first loss of the season 4-3 Saturday night at the Asheville Raquet Club.
The Bulldogs (2-1) took the doubles point behind victories by Leslie Smith and Louis Bottomley at number one and Stephanie Schon and Whitney Abbott at number two.
Smith won her third straight match of the season at number one singles and Stephanie Schon took the win at number three singles.
The match of the day came at number two where KSU's Ayano Tanaka outlasted Bottomley in 7-6 tiebreakers in both sets. Finally at number six, KSU's Allison Baulis defeated Asheville's Vanessa Schon 6-4 in the third set to claim the match for the Owls.
The Bulldogs will go on the road for the first time this season when they travel to Wofford on Thursday, Feb. 28.
