“We played very well today,” stated UNC Asheville coach Eddie Biedenbach. “I thought our defense and intensity was great from the start and we kept it up for 40 minutes. Our young players stepped up and did a great job. We shot the ball well and got contributions from everybody.
“Liberty is a young team, like we are, so we know it'll be a tough game when we go up there (Jan. 31),” added Biedenbach. “It was one of those days where we played well and everything worked out for us. We still have work to do but today was a nice win.”
Primm was 6-of-11 from the field and 8-of-8 from the charity stripe.
The Bulldogs led 15-10 midway through the first half before going on a 9-0 run to race to a 24-10 lead. Asheville led in double figures for the rest of the game. Smith scored eight straight points to build the lead to 39-19 at the 4:50 mark. The Bulldogs led 49-30 at halftime.

Asheville built the lead to as many as 31 points before settling for the 28-point win. The victory was the biggest BSC win for the Bulldogs since a 27-point win over Coastal Carolina (94-67) in the 1998-99 season.
