BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State won two singles matches in three sets and won a close doubles point to post a 6-1 non-conference victory over UNC Asheville at the Yonahlossee Racquet Club.
The Bulldogs (1-1) got their only win from Vadim Ivanov. Ivanov defeated Dimitar Dimitrov of ASU, 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 (9).
UNC Asheville battled in the match as Loic Hereson and Tyler Begg took their opponents to three sets before falling.
The Bulldogs host High Point Friday (Feb. 24) in their Big South Conference opener at the UNC Asheville Tennis Center starting at 1:30 p.m.
