Ben Green Named Perfect Game Midseason Second Team Freshman All-American

SANFORD, Fla. - UNC Asheville Baseball's Ben Green has been named a Midseason Second Team Freshman All-American, announced by Perfect Game yesterday (Wednesday, Apr. 1). Green was named to the list as a two-way player.Â
Â
Green has made an immediate impact on the Bulldogs lineup as a two-way player, playing both center field and third base while also getting time on the mound. He has played and started in 23 games hitting for a .276 average with 24 hits including four doubles, one triple and two home runs along with 17 runs batted in, 15 runs scored and five stolen bases. On the mound, he has made four appearances with three starts striking out six in 8.1 innings.

This is Green's first career honor from Perfect Game. The Matthews, N.C. native is a business major.

The Bulldogs return to action this afternoon (Thursday, Apr. 2) to open a Big South Conference series with Gardner-Webb. First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m. from Greenwood Field with video and live stats available at www.uncabulldogs.com.
