Angelina Joy Hug, Sofia Segui Earn Big South Conference Honors

FULL BIG SOUTH CONFERENCE RELEASE
 
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis saw junior Angelina Joy Hug and freshman Sofia Segui earn All-Conference honors from the Big South Conference, announced by the league today (Wednesday, Apr. 15).
 
Hug garnered First Team All-Conference Singles honors, while the duo earned First Team All-Conference honors as a doubles team. Hug was also named to the All-Academic Team.
 
Hug won a team-high 14 matches in singles play at No. 1, including going 2-1 in conference. In addition to her play on the court, Hug holds a 3.92 grade point average in health and wellness promotion.
 
These are Hug's fifth and sixth career All-Conference honors, along with her first career selection to the All-Academic Team. She is a native of Murten, Switzerland.
 
Hug and Segui teamed up at No. 1 doubles for nine wins on the season including going 2-0 in conference play.
 
This is Segui's first career All-Conference honor. The Calvia, Spain native is a business major.

The Bulldogs are the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Big South Conference Championships, facing No. 2 seed Charleston Southern in Friday's (Apr. 17) semifinal.
