Matthew Hall Named Big South Conference Relief Pitcher of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville senior right-hander Matthew Hall has been named the Big South Conference Relief Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league today (Monday, Mar. 30).

Hall collected both of Asheville's wins out of the bullpen last week, firing 3.1 scoreless innings with no hits and three strikeouts in the 8-4 win over Western Carolina on Tuesday (Mar. 24). It was the first win for the Bulldogs in the Mountain Rivalry since 2022, and the first win in the series at Greenwood Field since 2017. Hall then earned the win in the 5-3 series finale at USC Upstate on Sunday (Mar. 29), firing 4.2 scoreless innings scattering just two hits with four walks and two strikeouts.

This is Hall's first career weekly honor. The Raleigh, N.C. native is a health sciences major.
