ASHEVILLE, N.C. – All 11 Bulldogs who entered the game found their way into the scoring column, with five reaching double figures, as UNC Asheville surpassed the century mark in a 101-74 home-opening victory over Erskine on Wednesday night.
Connor Dubsky led Asheville with a game-high 21 points, matching his career high with six made three-pointers on 11 attempts. His 21 points were just two shy of his career high of 23, set against Bluefield University on Dec. 11, 2024. Dubsky also reached the 200-point milestone for his collegiate career.
Daniel Thomas followed with a career-high 17 points and a team-high nine rebounds, while Khayri Dunn added 14 points. Ja'Corey Lipkins contributed 11 points and a career-high five assists, while Tylon Chatman rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points and a game-high nine assists, matching his career best.
Chatman also surpassed 700 collegiate career points in the victory, bringing his total to 707 across his time at Lee and UNC Asheville.
After a back-and-forth opening stretch that featured six lead changes, Asheville began to take control midway through the first half. Back-to-back three-pointers from Dunn and Chatman helped the Bulldogs build momentum before a steal from Chatman and a basket from Dunn pushed Asheville's advantage into double figures.
The Bulldogs carried a 51-35 lead into halftime and wasted little time adding to their advantage in the second half, as Dubsky opened the frame with a three-pointer. Asheville continued its offensive production, adding 50 points in the second half and extending its lead to as many as 30 before securing the 27-point victory.
