Women's Tennis Tabbed Fourth in Big South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - UNC Asheville Women's Tennis was tabbed fourth in the Big South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the league today (Thursday, Jan. 16).

Asheville returns First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Conference Doubles selection Angelina Joy Hug, along with Valeria Centeno and Avery Sager. The Bulldogs also add transfer Audrey Gregg, Isabella Moss, Sofia Segui and Maria sol Alvarez Brandon to the mix.

Defending league champion Charleston Southern was picked at the top of the poll with 25 points and five first-place votes, while Gardner-Webb was picked second with 16 points. Presbyterian was slated third with 13 points, while Asheville was picked fourth with 12 points. Longwood was also picked fifth with nine points. League newcomer NJIT is not eligible for the preseason poll due to not playing a full league schedule this year.

The Bulldogs open the 2026 season on Jan. 25 at UNC Greensboro. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
